Twitter Blood Bowl: Wulf Space Jam now hiring
It wasn’t exactly an overwhelming victory, but in the end Chaos Dwarfs won out, so now we figure out who wants to come along and what roles they want.
Now some people have already stated what kind of role they want, and some I can make a guess at from what they wanted to be on other teams. Any desires and objections should be voiced now (be it for name or role), if not I might just pick at random for you. :3
First off I should state what starting composition I’m going with. I am getting 3 re-rolls, because Chaos Dorfs have no one who has any sort of ball-handling skills, which leaves us with 790 000 GP to get players, and we need to get 11, or we won’t be allowed to play. It should be noted that that Chaos Dorf cheerleaders are just genderless Hobgoblins dressed up in cheerleading costumes, so keep that in mind before you request buying cheerleaders.
As I want to get all six Chaos Dorf Blockers, we can get one Bull Centaur and four Hobgoblins in addition. This leaves us with 80 000 GP though, so we could alternately get only five Blockers to begin with, and spend all the leftover money on a Minotaur. If anyone wants to be that Minotaur, I could do that. I will copy and paste the player types on the end of this post if you want to check them again.
So here are the ones who have picked a role so far, some of whom I made an attempt at adapting from other teams:
- Silas Punchreys – Chaos Dorf Blocker
- L.V. Lovecrafter – Hobgoblin
- Asimech Jones – Hobgoblin
- Pink Puttymaker – Chaos Dorf Blocker (or possibly Bull Centaur?)
And that’s it for so far. If anyone wants out, feel free to say so, and I will try to remember to not use any variation of your handle for any player. For the rest, feel free to sign up for any role you want, or contend the roles I’ve given you for the four that are up there (either in comment or on Twitter). Heck, if you want you can suggest what you want friends to be, like maybe saying Josh should be the Minotaur. 😉 Here’s your copy-paste:

Hobgoblins are slightly faster than average, but also have pretty thin armour. They start with no skills, but can become pretty beastly when leveled up well. Their main job is go for the ball, and be cannon fodder when the coach can’t afford better players. If they do manage to score touchdowns though, it means they’ll level up pretty quickly, so you might be able to get them something useful like Block or Sure Hands.
The Chaos Dorf blockers have the same stats and skills as the regular Dorf blockers, which means they’re pretty tough to deal with, and excel at punching others. The Chaos Dorfs are only allowed to field 6 Blockers though, while a Dorf team could theoretically have only Blockers, but 6 tends to be more than enough. And being able to get Mutations can make them a lot more interesting.
Bull Centaurs are supreme blitzers. While they only have a base Movement Allowance of 6, the combination of Sprint and Sure Feet means they can basically move 9 squares per turn with very little risk. Strength 4 gives them pretty hefty punches, and they’d make excellent ball carriers, if they were able to pick up the ball. With a mere 2 agility that’s unlikely, but if they pull it off, you’re pretty much guaranteed a touchdown.
The Minotaur exists to perpetrate violence. It’s the only thing it’s good at, the only thing it desires. Wild Animal is similar to the Troll’s Really Stupid, in that you need a 4+ roll to be allowed to take action, but if that action is a block or a blitz, you get +2 to the roll. Horns gives it +1 Strength when blitzing, and Frenzy means it will always follow up when simply pushing an enemy player. This thing wants to hurt someone, and it wants it really badly.
