[A/N: Back to Love Live Sunshine, I had a silly little idea based on how I keep saying “Watanabe You is a very pretty girl”. She really is, but I imagine she wouldn’t think so herself. So why not have your two girlfriends try to convince you? And I know Riko is usually very secretive about her GL lit, but I like relationships where people are comfortable being open about such things. I like to think these three have reached that stage.]
Watanabe You felt very content with the current state of her life. It was cold outside, so she, Chika, and Riko had gathered at You’s place. They were ostensibly there to study, but as soon as they had gotten under the soothing warmth of the kotatsu those plans had fallen apart.
You was half-asleep gazing the same page in the book she had been from the start, Riko had brought out her own literature, and Chika… glancing across the table, You noticed that Chika was just looking at her. Maybe one could even call it staring.
[A/N: So we return to more Love Live Sunshine this time. This idea I actually had a burning desire to get started with, someone recently realising their polyamorous feelings, and trying to figure out how to deal with that, but I struggled with it as it went along. I’m not entirely happy with it, but I spent several days going between working on this, procrastinating, and doing nothing else useful, so I at least want to show something for it. I think it’s decent overall, and there’s certainly bits in here I love, but it doesn’t feel like my strongest effort. I was almost tempted to scrap it, but at this point I’d hate discarding this amount of work more than I’d hate posting something I think could be better. Maybe it’s the best I can hope for in the middle of winter. I don’t have the same energy levels and patience as I do the rest of the year.]
Watanabe You was nervous. She was currently in the room with the two most important people in her life, and for some reason her heart seemed to be even harder to calm down than usual today. Something had awakened inside her recently, and it was getting increasingly tough to deal with.
She loved Chika. Her dear childhood friend, who had always been there for her, with whom she had shared so much. The wonderful girl who shone like the sun every time she smiled. Who could sometimes feel so lonely and frustrated because she didn’t want to bother other people with her problems. Because she was head-strong, determined, and kept having to be reminded that it was okay to ask for help. You had always admired Chika.
And she had always loved Chika. But had she always loved loved Chika? She didn’t have a good answer for that.
[A/N: I had a different story in mind a week ago, longer and more ambitious, but my bipolar disorder decided to fuck up my brain, so writing has been tough. This isn’t exactly my greatest work, but I just felt such a desperate need to write something, to finish something, that this will do. So this is my fifth and (probably) final Christmas story. I don’t think I’ll have time to do any others between now and New Year’s. This is supposed to be the same YouHane pairing that I did for Yohane’s birthday roughly six months ago.]
Watanabe You was waiting outside of the door to Yohane’s room. In spite of their relationship status, the fallen angel had insisted on changing outfits on her own. Something about it being too distracting to have You in the room, so she had agreed to wait outside. Maybe seeing her all dressed up would be like a nice surprise.
“Okay, you can come in now,” Yohane’s voice said from inside.
You allowed herself a small grin, opened the door, and headed inside. There Yohane stood in a Santa outfit: Red sleeveless dress with a white trim along the hem, a red cap with a fluffy tip, red gloves, and thin, dark stockings. You had made it herself, though it wasn’t quite finished yet. She still wanted to embellish it some more, and she had some boots she was working on. But first she had wanted Yohane to try it on, and see if it fit right.
[A/N: For the second of this year’s Christmas stories (which is technically happening post-Christmas), we are revisiting Ruby and Leah from Love Live Sunshine. I wanted to get episode 9 watched before I started this one, and now that that’s done, let’s see what we can do about this. Post-completion: Okay, that became a lot longer than I expected it would. Proof-reading this wasn’t easy, but I’m fairly happy with it.]
Getting the permission for this hadn’t been easy, but Ruby had done her very rubesty. Convincing Dia had been the hard part. Getting Mari to lend her the money for the ticket had been fairly easy. Mari seemed very supportive of Ruby going to see Leah, and had even helped talk to Dia. Ruby wasn’t sure how long it would take her to repay all of that, but she was certain it would be worth it.
She was going to stay with Leah in Hakodate for New Year’s. Of course she felt bad about asking for that after they had just come back from the Christmas concert they did, but she wanted this more than anything else in the world right now. Even more than winning Love Live. If she missed this opportunity, she’d have to wait a whole year for her next chance. It meant missing most of Dia’s birthday for the first time ever, but she told herself that was going to happen sooner or later anyway.
[A/N: Wanted to write something cute, and again recalled some fanart I saw long, long ago. June or July. I wish I could find it again, but I forgot to bookmark it. But yeah: the childhood friend ship I don’t see that often.]
“Okay then, first one to reach the pier,” Kanan said. “Ready?”
“You bet,” You said, already in her ready stance.
Kanan adopted a similar stance. “Ready… set… go!” It had entered her mind to cheat a little to trip You up, but she was confident in her chances regardless.
Running on sand was always an extra challenge. They were running far enough up the beach that hopefully the sand should be equally dry for both of them. If it wasn’t well into autumn, they might have ran barefoot, but it was a tad chilly for that now.
[A/N: Last week’s episode of Love Live Sunshine made me want to write a Dia-centric fic. While I had a couple of ideas, I didn’t have much writing motivation in the past week, so it took me a while to get around to it. But now felt like the perfect time, as I needed to write something exciting and fun to get myself back on track. Inspiration for this came from a piece of fan art I saw on Twitter.]
A hand slammed into the wall by Dia’s head as she was walking, cutting her off.
“W-w-wh-wha-” a startled Dia stuttered, and looked towards the perpetrator.
“Hello, Dia-chan~” the fiend said, and grinned wickedly.
“Y-You-san?” Dia really couldn’t ignore how close her ashen-haired kouhai was.
[A/N: I have this small ball of seeds of ideas roughly falling under the label of ‘Hanamaru is too gay for this’, and one of them sprouted into this.]
“Y-You-san?” Hanamaru wasn’t sure how she had ended up on the floor, or how You had ended up on top of her. But those blue eyes were gazing down at her very intently.
“I’ve been thinking about you for a long time, Hanamaru-chan.” You’s voice was huskier than Hanamaru was used to, and the fingers caressing her scalp was making her shiver.
“You-san…” Hanamaru wasn’t sure what was going to happen next, but then You started leaning down towards her. She closed her eyes, and just as she could sense You’s closeness…
Hanamaru woke up.
[A/N: Another middle of the night idea. I don’t usually write these types of stories, but I suppose I wanted to see if I could.]
She’s beautiful. The most beautiful person in the world. That’s what I think every time I see her.
Graceful, talented, cheerful… wonderful. I have never met anyone like her. Compared to her I am so painfully average. If only she would… I should say something. Hah, I keep thinking that, yet I never do. But perhaps today…
She turns her head, and our eyes meet. My heart can’t decide if it wants to leap out of my chest, or just stop dead. She smiles, a genuine one reflected in those deep blue eyes. One might think blue eyes would be cold, but hers are soft and enveloping, like a warm ocean I want to sink into. I smile back, even though I’m aware it probably looks goofy. Then I realise I’ve been staring. Again.
“Ugh…” Watanabe You felt miserable. Wasn’t summer supposed to be over? Yet it was still unbearably warm, even with the sun having gone down. Her brain was fried, so any more studying would have to wait. She’d taken off her glasses anyway, since they just kept sliding down her nose. At least it was slowly cooling down now. Slowly being the key word, as everything was still really clammy. Even sitting still she felt awful.
Suddenly she could feel something pressing against her back, and two arms were lazily draped around her.
“Chi… Chika-chan?” Hadn’t Chika fallen asleep after overheating? Ah, she could feel warm breath against her neck. You shivered, the sensation travelling down her spine.
[A/N: Aaaahhh, this one ambushed me! After getting Ruby’s story ready to go for her birthday, I looked up when the next one would be, and found Riko to be two days before! So I barely had time to brainstorm, much less plan. I’m so sorry for it being short and kinda shitty, Riko. You deserve better. Happy birthday, you poor pervert.]
“So why did we have to come up to the roof?” Riko asked. The two of them had practically dragged her up here. She hadn’t even managed to grab her lunch.
Chika and You exchanged glances and smiled. “Because…” You said.
“We have a present for you!” Chika eagerly finished.
“You couldn’t have waited until after school?” Riko asked. The door finally closed behind them. It was a bit slow. The three of them moved off to the side.
It was Riko’s birthday, so she wasn’t surprised they had gotten her something. She would have been upset if they didn’t. But the party wasn’t until this afternoon.
