Kissing Is Magic

[A/N: A silly idea I had a while back, and only rediscovered as I was looking through my files of writing ideas I have remembered to make a note of. What if Kasumi was a magical girl, but she needed to kiss Arisa to transform? I don’t remember exactly when I had this idea, I don’t add time and date to my notes, but it was probably quite a while ago.]

Ichigaya Arisa was relaxing in her living room with a glass of ice tea. She didn’t like moving around much at the best of times, and in the current summer heat it was absolutely out of the question to be any more active than absolutely necessary. Though she had agreed to go out for ice cream later.

The things I do for love, she idly mused to herself.

Speaking of, suddenly Toyama Kasumi barged into the room in her unfortunately usual way.

“A~ri~sa~!”

A Summon For A Summon

[A/N: I got the idea of a person getting isekai (another world) summoned in front of their lover, and then that lover looking for a way to summon them back. Which turned into this story. I recognise this could definitely be fleshed out further. You might be able to turn it into an entire novel (or at least a novella) if you wanted to. But I wanted to keep this as a quick one shot. I suppose you can consider it a short proof of concept. Feel free to take the idea and do your own thing with it if you’d like.]

As Mia Andersen opened the door to her shared apartment, she noticed a strange light. For some reason it gave her a bad feeling, so without even taking off her shoes, she ran into the living room. There was a cone of light rising from the ground, and floating inside it…

“Julie!”

“Mia! Something is- something-”

“Julie! Take my hand!”

“I can’t move! Mia! Mi-”

The light vanished as if someone had flipped the switch off, and Julie was gone with it. Mia’s outstretched hand hovered in the air for a minute, and then she dropped to her knees. She hadn’t been able to reach Julie in time.

How To Play At The Park

[A/N: This is the last of the three short ideas I had for this round. It’s unlikely this will be the last time I’ll visit this series, but it might be a while before next time. We’ll see, nothing is ever set in stone. I just really wanted to write about some of my favourite characters having children. Chris deserves to be happy. All of them do.]

“Ena! Don’t run too fast, sweetie!”

“Okay!”

Miku let out a sigh as the little girl sped off. At least all the kids were on grass, and they’d had the foresight to dress them in clothes where it wasn’t a big deal if they got dirty.

Chris patted her on the shoulder. “Reminds you of a certain someone, huh?”

They shared a smile as said someone was following the kids to keep an eye on them.

How A Fluff Cares For Sleepy Girls

[A/N: After doing one new story to this series, I immediately got the urge to do one more. With a bit of a time skip. Maybe I’ll even do another one, we’ll see. Hopefully you don’t mind getting the stories in little bursts like this, rather than regular intervals.

I just wanted a bit of domestic slice of life with some good girls.]

Chris was done studying for the day. She hadn’t quite started the final year yet, but she still had to prepare herself. Good grades didn’t happen on her own, and she had her thesis to worry about in the coming year. Not that she was super worried or anything, but she wanted to do well.

She opened the window in her room to let some of the stuffiness out. It was definitely getting warmer as Spring progressed, but not quite warm enough to sit with the window open all day. She took the time to stretch her arms and back, before heading into the living room.

How To Not Come Up With A Name

[A/N: Been a long time since I’ve posted anything now. Motivation is hard to come by these days. But this idea didn’t want to go away, and was keeping me awake, so I decided it was best to write it down.

The seed of this idea has been around for a while, but I was originally thinking I should first write a story about how the baby was conceived. However I couldn’t get in the mood to write something lewd, so that’ll have to wait until later. Feels good to have written something, though. Maybe it’ll get the ball rolling again. Or maybe not. We’ll see.]

“I’m home!”

Yukine Chris shut the front door behind her. It had taken a while for this place to truly feel like home, but now she couldn’t imagine it being anywhere else. Or with anyone else.

“Welcome back!” replied a voice from further in.

Mutual Yearning

[A/N: Currently playing through Atelier Ryza 2 (it’s very good), and I keep saying Klaudia needs to be more assertive, so I wrote about just that. It’s very short, but it’s all I’m able to manage right now. Just needed to get it out of my system.]

There was a knock at the door.

“Coming!”

Understanding Love

[A/N: So we return to more Love Live Sunshine this time. This idea I actually had a burning desire to get started with, someone recently realising their polyamorous feelings, and trying to figure out how to deal with that, but I struggled with it as it went along. I’m not entirely happy with it, but I spent several days going between working on this, procrastinating, and doing nothing else useful, so I at least want to show something for it. I think it’s decent overall, and there’s certainly bits in here I love, but it doesn’t feel like my strongest effort. I was almost tempted to scrap it, but at this point I’d hate discarding this amount of work more than I’d hate posting something I think could be better. Maybe it’s the best I can hope for in the middle of winter. I don’t have the same energy levels and patience as I do the rest of the year.]

Watanabe You was nervous. She was currently in the room with the two most important people in her life, and for some reason her heart seemed to be even harder to calm down than usual today. Something had awakened inside her recently, and it was getting increasingly tough to deal with.

She loved Chika. Her dear childhood friend, who had always been there for her, with whom she had shared so much. The wonderful girl who shone like the sun every time she smiled. Who could sometimes feel so lonely and frustrated because she didn’t want to bother other people with her problems. Because she was head-strong, determined, and kept having to be reminded that it was okay to ask for help. You had always admired Chika.

And she had always loved Chika. But had she always loved loved Chika? She didn’t have a good answer for that.

Wulfy’s Notable Games of 2016

So we’ve put the lid on 2016. Possibly the worst year I’ve lived through, if we consider personal, social, and political factors. At least there’s been some good entertainment to consume.

I’m not sure I can honestly call myself a games writer any longer. I haven’t posted anything in the games category since March. I told myself at the start of the year that I’d do at least a quick post for everything noteworthy I played, but that fell out quickly. Couldn’t keep up with the Bloodborne DLC series I started either. No use worrying too much about it, though.

I still wanted to do an end of year thing, because there has been stuff well worth talking about. The format of these posts seems to change every year because I don’t remember how I did it last year. These will not only/necessarily be my favourite games, but games I feel are worth pointing out. Hence the “notable” in the title.

Addendum: I can’t believe I forgot to add Pokemon Go. See at the bottom.

Xenoblade Chronicles X – Sorta Review

I’ve been pondering for quite a while what to actually say about this game. It’s been two months since I finished it.

A world of adventure.

Xenoblade Chronicles X devoured nearly four weeks of my life. The in-game playtime counter sits at 350+ hours. How do I collect my thoughts on the game that essentially swallowed all of January for me?

Oxenfree – Sorta Review

I’ve been trying to remember where I heard of Oxenfree. I know I knew of it before it came out, just can’t remember where I learned of it. Most probable: I heard it from Felix Kramer, who was doing marketing for it, and whom I follow on Twitter.

Olly olly?

Regardless! We are here to talk about the game, not… whatever I was doing up there.

As usual I will do my best to avoid spoilers, though I will at the least have to talk about the set-up for the game. Other minor spoilers may occur.

I also have very few screenshots for this, so it might not be the most interesting stuff. I got a little too caught up in the atmosphere to remember to hit the screenshot button.
